So I am back in the motherland of North London, Coldfall Wood by Muswell Hill. Another accent wood, here to carry out a breeding bird survey. Its a misty morning and the place is alive with bird song, it wasn't really that much of an early start but enough that only a few people are wondering about the place whilst I survey. Great Spotted Woodpeckers are drumming away and Song Thrush are singing their hearts out. I love being in an urban area and finding this beautiful oasis surrounded by concrete, for me it makes it a very special place. I am really looking forward to visiting this wet woodlands on a regular basis
